People - By design, our organization lends itself to creative and seasoned minds. Our structure gives people creative autonomy to do what they do best, within a professional framework. This has enabled Coburn to attract developers, architects, designers and builders who are passionate about their work, pay attention to details and can communicate well on all levels. The professionals who manage financial and administrative processes are similarly qualified. We recognize how important they are to making each and every project run smoothly. We work well together. Collaboration is cornerstone of the fully integrated solutions Coburn provides. Come and meet our people. Our doors are open.

William E. Coburn - President We have had the opportunity many times to grow the company quickly. We haven’t done that. Instead we’ve been selective on projects, and hired new staff with great care. We never want to compromise our capacity to do work that matters, and do it very, very well. – Bill Coburn

John A. Koval - Director of Development I was educated in design but discovered fairly quickly that development was my real interest. I was working in commercial brokerage when I saw some of Coburn’s early concept drawings for the Steel Yards in Boulder. Here was this bold vision formed up in a really sound, practical application. Suddenly the possibilities for innovative urban development here in my own community looked limitless. – John Koval

James Appel - Director of Construction This isn’t typical construction. I love the work because our structures are much more imaginative than typical buildings. It’s all in the details, from modern roof forms to historic trim and columns, and it's all done with high quality, environmentally sound materials. At the same time, the practical considerations of high quality, efficient construction are critical in our decision making. – Jim Appel

Peter Weber - Creative Director Designers aren’t normally involved in a project’s earliest stages, when developers are simply contemplating the possibilities. That’s different here. I am attracted to the methodology of pulling all disciplines together at the very beginning, and weighing design potential as heavily as something such as economic potential or usability. This is a balanced way of going about projects that brings integrity to each and every element. For a designer, there’s no better situation. – Pete Weber Peter is the company’s creative director with responsibility for overall design and quality control. He manages the firm’s innovative design department. Peter oversees individual projects, specializing in large urban mixed-use projects, historic home and commercial renovation, tenant finish and sustainability. He is a licensed architect in Colorado and Hawaii and a LEED accredited professional. Peter has worked with artist Michael Singer on major art installations at the Denver International Airport and the Phoenix Recycling Center. Peter received a master of architecture degree from The Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a bachelor’s degree in environmental design from the University of Colorado. |

Steve Rane - Chief Financial Officer Real estate is a passion of mine and I consider myself an environmentalist. Here the two don’t have to be mutually exclusive. One of the things that attracted me to Coburn is the fact that we bring a high degree of environmental sensitivity to everything we do. We’re not contributing to sprawl; we just don’t compete in that space. Growth in the world and more people are a fact of life, but we believe there is a right way to accommodate growth. – Steve Rane
